Occupational Therapy Services Include:

  • Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Training – Assistance with dressing, bathing, grooming, and eating.

  • Home Safety & Modifications – Evaluations to reduce fall risks and improve accessibility.

  • Hand & Upper Body Therapy – Strengthening and improving coordination for fine motor skills.

  • Adaptive Equipment Training – Teaching the use of assistive devices for daily tasks.

  • Energy Conservation & Pain Management – Techniques to manage fatigue and discomfort effectively.

  • Aging in Place & Geriatric Care -- Assists older adults in staying safely and independently in their homes

The therapist will assess:

  • Bathing and dressing

  • Eating and meal prep

  • Using the toilet and grooming

  • Moving in and out of bed or chairs

  • Using your hands for tasks like gripping or writing

This assessment helps identify areas that need improvement.

The OT may look at your home and suggest ways to:

  • Reduce fall risks

  • Improve safety in the bathroom and kitchen

  • Set up tools or aids to assist movement

  • Make daily tasks easier and safer

You will engage in specific exercises and activities designed to enhance:

  • Strength, flexibility, and coordination

  • Fine motor skills (such as gripping and buttoning)

  • Cognitive skills including memory and problem-solving

  • Techniques to manage fatigue

All activities are customized to fit your goals and comfort.

The therapist will provide:

  • Training for the safe use of adaptive tools (such as reachers)

  • Tips for pacing activities, ensuring safety, and protecting your joints

  • Guidance for caregivers and family when needed
